Hi everyone,

Clearance for the current batch is taking longer than expected. Introducing 90KG of white sand into the US  is a delicate process as we need to show different documents and follow strict procedures. There’s no risk of not getting cleared, but it takes time and effort to present everything on time. On the bright side, we are learning a lot for the next batch, as there will be around 500KG of sand on it.

By next week we will have tracking numbers for the backers in this batch; it will not have information yet but is one step more into this process.

The last batch's assembly is complete, and the quality inspection is still running. We selected some units to let them work 24/7 for four days. This way, we ensure everything goes as planned. I want to share one of the most essential tools for testing, a sheet that allows us to see magnetic fields, this way, we ensure that the magnet is running.

For our backers in UAE, Brazil, and India. The courier requires further information from your part to ensure a seamless delivery. We sent DMs and emails to those backers asking for that information; if you live in these countries and do not receive our message, please reach us by DM.

Thanks for reading; we value your feedback, and sorry if sometimes we did not provide the information as fast as desired, but we are focused on getting everything delivered ASAP.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi everyone,

Clearance for the units in the US ports is taking longer than expected; we only have one pallet clear of the ten pallets sent. But our custom agent says the whole pallets must be cleared by the end of this week. The WH took the first pieces to start working on the packing list. We go with a first-come, first-served basis in accord with SKU availability in this batch.

This is the first pallet with Sandsaras!

I showed you the Sandsara packaging a few days ago, but I missed a final detail that we were unsure if it would move forward. After deliberation and negotiation with our suppliers, besides the black boxes, every Sandsara includes a sleeve with the information required by customs of some countries; plus, we add the last way to thank all of you for helping us bring this project to life and for your patience during this journey. I hope you enjoy every detail we worked on.

The back of the sleeves includes the name of all our backers :)

For the rest of the orders, there’s also good news. The QA inspections are happening as I write this. Our team rejected some units because of aesthetic details in the wood rings, so our manufacturing partners are re-working these units to complete the batch. Remember that this is the last batch, so it is the one that will fulfill the rest of the orders in the US, EU, Asia, and the rest of the world. We are excited about the three thousand one hundred sixty units assembled for this batch.

Thousands of wood rings, the most conflictive part of our design, are finally complete!

Thanks for reading and again for your support. Remember to keep the comments coming.

Cheers,

Ed

Hello, everyone

We got a lot of feedback concerning the time the fulfillment stage would take, but finally, the first batch is in the US ports.

Our logistic partners are taking all the steps to clear the batch from customs ASAP. They have been asking us for additional documentation regarding the certifications stated by our certifications. We are learning a lot about this process and what it takes to have a smooth clearance. One of the most important things because we decided to split the delivery into batches is to learn the whole shipping process with this small batch to be prepared for the next one.

As for the rest of the orders, the manufacturing stage is almost done. QA inspections are scheduled for the next week; this process will take around four days; after that, we will send that batch to the different regional warehouses for individual fulfillment.

Regarding changing address, we are now only accepting changes into the same country, as all the logistic and shipping plans are in motion and documents and units per warehouse are closed. Once our inspectors clear the second batch from the quality inspection, we will make the final lock down to the addresses. So please, if this is your case, let us know ASAP by DM.

Thank you so much for your feedback and comments, the path is ending, and we appreciate the support shown up to date.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi everyone,

The first batch has left the Chinese port and is going to the US! This batch must arrive in about 2-3 weeks; then, the selected backers will receive their tracking numbers.

I noticed that we never told you about the packaging of Sandsara. As important as the assembly stage is, the packaging is an essential piece because it will be the protective shell of each Sandsara.

Every Sandsara will be packaged in black boxes with an inner foam insert. This foam will hold all the accessories and pieces included with each Sandsara. The box design passed an aggressive durability test to ensure that it would be enough to protect the components. Besides this, we will put the black boxes into another box (the master box) to increase safety during the shipping phase. We know that couriers are not the most delicate handlers, so we prefer to have double protection.

As part of the testing process, we sent some units from our Chinese WH to our offices in Mexico to make a final validation, and everything went seamlessly! The units arrived in perfect conditions, the foam holds thigh all the components, even the tiny metal ball, and there was no damage in any of the units.

The decisive part was to turn them on. Sandsara is intended that once it arrives at you, just pour the sand, place the metal ball in the center, and plugin it to start their captive paths. And the units worked as expected. After plugin it, the LEDs will turn on for the devices with the Aura upgrade. Then the magnet arm will start its calibration process, which will take around 30 secs. After this, your Sandsara will begin making the paths. I will post more detailed instructions once we finish the logistic stage, and of course, each Sandsara will come with its written instructions.

For the 3rd batch, which includes the IGG orders, the assembly stage started the last week after final adjustments to the assembly line. We added a few extra steps to avoid errors as the failed units from the previous batch. We know that you expected a project to perform at its best when you decided to back our project, and we are confident that we are there.

Even though there’s always room for failure, so I will honor the one-year warranty to all our backers, from guiding you to making minor fixes to sending replacements. I want you to have the experience expected when I conceived this project.

Like always, we are excited to show and get you involved in this entire process, in our progress and our stumbles.  Stay tuned for updates in our subsequent batches and the following steps.

Thanks for your comments and DM’s, If you have any doubts or concerns, you can reach us here or by DM.

Cheers,

Ed

Hello everyone,

If you recall, the first batch started some months ago. In the end, we decided to make 500 units for this batch. We manufactured 500 PCBs, 500 wood rings, and took 500 mechanisms (remember that we already have the total production of the mechanism), and worked in the assembly process.

In the assembly stage, we have to design and implement the proper tests and procedures for the assembly process. We already talked to you about our test jig and assembly flow documents, and our manufacturing team has been working on this to validate every piece produced in the first batch.

We will take 400 of them to send them to our US warehouse to validate our selected logistic process. The estimation is that these units will arrive at our US warehouse by mid-June. Once there, the units will be used to fulfill the orders of our first 340 backers in the US (some of them pledge for more than one unit), which means that these units will be in their final home by late June.

We will continue assembling the final batch as we ship the first batch. These units will be used to fulfill the European orders, the rest of the orders to the US, and our warehouse in HK for the rest of the world. The whole process will take around eight weeks, starting today.

Backerkit Surveys

There are still many of you who haven’t completed your Backerkit Surveys. If it is your case, or if you don’t remember if you completed it or not, please reach out to us via private messages. Completing your survey is the only way we can proceed with your shipment.

Again, many thanks for your encouragement through these last steps in the Sandsara journey.

Cheers,

Ed
